Axé Capoeira Toronto Demo at 12:45 PM
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art developed in the 1500s by African and Indigenous slaves in Brazil as a form of self-defence from their oppressors. It is marked by its agile and tricky movements that may be executed anywhere from an upside-down position, to a gravity defying kick. It has a strong acrobatic component in some styles and is always played with music.
Booth of Mindfulness
Come to the Spring Fair’s Mindfulness Booth sponsored by the Wellness Club. This will showcase what the student lead Wellness Club has been doing this year. Participants will be guided to notice their breath in a serene environment and will be invited to participate in an introductory mindful experiment.
The Watermelon Eating Challenge
If you love to eat watermelon, then step up and take your chances with the watermelon eating contest. It’s a race to see who can finish that mouth watering fruit before anyone else. Prizes for the winner and everyone else gets to eat a free watermelon.
